MR PAUL ARDITTI:
A LESSON “CHIEF MINISTER”
MAITLAND DID NOT LEARN
Mr Arditti’s comments on the
right, as printed in the
Guernsey Press on 2nd May,
are welcomed by
the Sark
Newsletter
, which also cam-
paigns for good governance,
the rule of law, transparency
and accountability.
The question we ask is: did
Mr Arditti get paid a £25,000
retainer by Sark’s taxpayers
for giving such advice to our
“Chief Minister” Charles
Maitland?
If Mr Arditti did, he deserves
our praise but clearly Mr
Maitland wasn’t listening; he
isn’t even transparent about
Mr Arditti’s advisory ser-
vices, let alone all the other
questions that he refuses to
answer.
The reason for this is clear.
Our “Chief Minister” is the
hired hand of Sark’s feudal
Establishment - of feudal lord
Michael Beaumont, his ap-
pointed enforcer Reg Guille
and their supporter Edric
Baker - and Mr Maitland
will jump when told to do so
by his feudal masters.
The moment he doesn’t, Mr
Maitland will find himself out
of office, out of favour and
ostracised from their society
quicker than he can say
“Seigneurie Gardens Trust”.

MATTERS ON WHICH
OUR “CHIEF MINISTER” IS AVOIDING SCRUTINY:
What are the terms of the Seigneurie Gardens Trust and who are the beneficiaries? How do the citizens of
Sark benefit from the Seigneurie Gardens Trust and how does Mr Maitland himself benefit?
Why was money donated to benefit distressed Islanders spent by Mr Maitland / the Seigneurie Gardens
Trust on enhancing the well-off Michael Beaumont’s property?
What happened to the £20,000 donations, total £40,000, handed over to the Douzaine and the Island Hall
Trustees respectively?
Why is he retaining Mr Paul Arditti at a cost of £25,000 a year to Sark’s taxpayers when he knows Mr Ardit-
ti is unqualified to practise in the Bailiwick and in a position of conflict of interest being a sitting member of
the States of Alderney and the States of Guernsey? Who does Mr Arditti advise and on what matters?
When will Mr Maitland see to it that meetings of Chief Pleas / parliament are recorded? It is over two years
since he promised to “look into” this.
